Summer School Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow
Situated in the heart of
Krakow, Ignatianum – as a Jesuit university – has become a part of more than
450 years of educational tradition of the Society of Jesus. Currently,
Jesuits run their schools and universities in 27 countries on almost all
continents, thus being one of the largest international educational networks.
The roots of Jesuit
University Ignatianum go back to the 1930s. Educating lay students began in
the last decades of the 20th century. At present, there are more
than 3000 students and 11 fields of study within the scope of humanities and
social sciences.

Offered
by Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow, the cultural project Summer School organised from 1st July to 14th July
2018 is directed first of all towards youth
(of age) and students from Polish communities abroad. Classes devoted to
the Polish culture, Polish language workshops and sightseeing tours of Krakow
and its surroundings (all in English) will allow the participants to get to
know the culture of ancient and contemporary Poland (cf. Programme for Ignatianum Summer School). Krakow – the seat of
Polish kings and the cultural capital of Poland, the city full of an antique
charm, the bishop’s capital of St John Paul II – is an ideal destination to
organise this kind of enterprise.

maximum of 30 persons[1]
- Participants’ age: a minimum of 18 years of age

- Intensive course of Polish language
- Costs per person: 950 EUR / 1150 USD / 3970 PLN
Full-price funding on the part of participants (includes: accommodation in the city centre in rooms with two/three beds,
full board, lectures and workshops, sightseeing tours of Krakow and its surroundings
with a guide, entry tickets for museums, public transport in Krakow)
- Transport to Krakow as well as visas for Poland to be obtained and
paid by participants on their own
